OspreyFest

Heron Lake State Park

These awesome raptors have made OspreyFest a yearly spectacular and swoop down from their nests in the surrounding ponderosa pines..gliding along the waterline..and bam!..swoop up a fish in their talons, to the crowds delight!

They are very large birds, with 6 foot wingspans! Little known fact to many salt water, coastal visitors, that we have a very healthy population here in the high desert and at over 7,000 feet of elevation.

Come up, take a Water Safari and camp out in this near pristine mountain lake!
