I bought this beautiful piece of hand-painted pottery from Marilyn Hadley of Etched Water Pottery" -
About David Hadleys Pottery at The Four Corners-Navajo Nation
When we visited
The Four Corners Monument on the
Navajo Nation, we were also were very impressed with the etched water pottery that Marylin was selling! It was made by her husband, David ..who was actually only taught to make it in this process about 10 years ago, by his nephew.
His specialty is Navajo etched pottery with horsehair! We had previously taken an interest in infused horsehair in
encaustic ..and found the introduction of horsehair in the pottery beautiful.
David is very much a Dine' (Navajo); Yucca Clan and is a lifelong residnet of Teec Nos Pos, Arizona. In breaking tradition, as well ..that is the only way to get a hold of him..by writing..OR by taking a Scenic Road Trip up to the Four corners and seeing Marilyn! :)
He has a very distinctive way of signing his work as DHadley, Dine', Navajo Census# 204052 and with a picture of Window Rock, Az.
