Always, color 'turns me on'! In order that I be captivated, an artist must create colors that leap out at me and tell a story. As I was meandering through a gallery in Rockville, Maryland ..I saw three paintings in the floor and kind of behind, as if they didn't seem to have a place.
Range ..that is to say what kind of work, and what level ..can an artist excel?
This is a very little known and hearsay, troubled, but classically trained Bolivian Native artist. His work is hung in an amazing array of very important spots ..but yet?!?.
And I understand completely! This is why I 'liberated' the three oil on canvas pictured below:
- Adam & Eve Lost in Latin America
- 2-Un-named (that I know of) barrio scenes, colorful but dark and shadowy.
Although, as I can see ..I think, Gato being Native Bolivian ..will go into our Native Artists catagory. It's confusing in a way, as he is not a native United States ..um..indian, he is in any case part of the vast area on which the Spanish first began to ..ahh..steal ..native lands.
He does ..however, live in the United States! I know..confusing, but I understand..do you?
