Canyon Road

Not only an art mecca, a social center, Canyon Road-Santa Fe, New Mexico! It begins, as during Christmas and the Farolito Walk ..at the bottom on Paseo de Peralta and goes uphill amongst literally hundreds of galleries, restaurants and coffee shops to East Alameda about a mile and half running.

To say that this is Santa Fe's main art district would be inciting debate. What could certainly be said is that it is where the old axiom location, location, location comes true and that, an artist aspires to have an opening reception and show on Canyon Road. During Farolito Walk, it is the place to be in the region with thousands and thousands and with all the galleries open til all hours.

With a smattering of very old adobe homes on Canyon Road, dating back to at least the 1750's. Indeed in the late 1600's the Spanish who had returned to re-establish the capitol after the Pueblo Revolt ..would walk their burro's up the Road through the Canyon ..and hence it's name.

Since Summer-Fall are the most enchanting times for us, join us for the Canyon Road Art Walks this year! Be sure to stop by Meyers East Gallery on the left and headed up off the Paseo to see Peter Campbells show!
