Armando Lopez

Armando Lopez is an Abiquiu Artist originally from Mexico ..who's 3D mixed media representations captured our attention. Although native as opposite to Spanish Mexican..his work is representative and reminds us of the period Spanish who's Friars brought 'the inquisitions' religion ..even  and especially to Abiquiu!   Read "The Witches of Abiquiu" and "The Genizaro and the Artist".

"I really like his paintings, his colors. I like some of his mixed media as well. Interesting back ground/story. Apparently he is a native Tarascan Indian (Mexican Tribe). I'm fascinated by Armando's roots, the rich traditions and customs of his culture; the way he keeps these traditions alive today through his art work. He lives and works in Abiquiu, NM."
